CHENNAI: Two construction workers from West Bengal died when a portion of an old wall collapsed on them at Shenoy Nagar here on Thursday afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Robin Pahan, 32, and Sunil Pahan, 44. They were digging the ground to construct a new building for the Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board when the accident happened. They tried to break a wall that was attached to a temple when it fell on them.

Other workers pull them out of the debris and rushed them to Government Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital where they were declared brought dead.
Police said Sivagnanam, a contractor who hired the workers, had been detained for questioning.
